▲ Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
Rated as one of the "Top Ten Best Family Museums in the Country" in 2017 by authoritative American media, the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh was transformed from the Carnegie Library, which was built in the late 19th century. This public building with the longest history in the area has been abandoned since it suffered a natural disaster in 2006. After several years, the new design team took over and tried to restore the old style of the building in the European classical revival style.
For this reason, mottled columns, heavy brick walls, and complex ceilings were introduced into the interior as "resonance carriers". In order to focus on the essence of the building, the designer created the terrazzo material, which also originated from ancient Europe, and used mosaic collages, retro patterns, and old-fashioned styles to awaken the long-dormant cultural symbols and artistic heritage. This "exquisite and abstract work of art, the best fusion of the past and the future" brings children a different experience and endless joy, and stimulates their creativity and curiosity.

▲ Black Drop Coffee Shop, Kavala, Greece
The ancient city of Kavala, located at the foot of the Olympia Mountains in northern Greece, has a long history dating back to the 6th century BC. The charming port and classic ancient buildings have brought people unique experiences and unforgettable memories. In order to show the century-old cultural customs to tourists from all over the world, this historical relic located near Kapnergaton Square in the city center has been transformed into a coffee culture and artistic social experience place that symbolizes strength and enthusiasm after renovation.
The designer cleverly uses bold decorations on the walls and ground spaces to construct a wonderful picture of the port beach - ceramics with water wave patterns and simple and rough bricks and stones make people feel like they are there. Terrazzo aggregates have become the brush of inspiration in the hands of designers. They are freely spread and fly freely. The brown particles are like wide beaches and coffee beans, carrying the characteristics of the city of Kavala, which perfectly integrates nature and humanity. They decorate this ancient and warm historical building and bring a fantasy journey across time and space.

▲ Caldaro sulla Strada del Vino Hotel, Italy
The Baron Paolixiang private garden holiday villa, which has a history of nearly a century, is surrounded by rich local natural resources. From vineyards to Lake Kartten, from the Dolomite Mountains to Mount Mendel, every scene is full of beautiful meanings of endless life. In recent years, its successors invited designers to transform this building into a reception hotel, so that people can feel at home while also keeping the Baron's warm and simple personal spirit of pursuing freedom and truth.
The color concept conceived by artist Manfred Alva Meier combines the excellent expressiveness of materials to present a vivid impression. To further enhance the fluidity of natural light and interior space, the designer used terrazzo, which has both historical heritage and modern aesthetics, to pave the floor. While bringing a sense of gloss and lightness, it also inadvertently creates an elegant atmosphere that has been accumulated over the years and is still as warm as ever. It is like a long river of time, full of the past, slowly flowing with the story of the baron...
